Sangdon Kim

Sangdon Kim invites introspection and reflection on the realities of every day life and the secrets constantly lurking beneath the surface of even the most seemingly mundane.

His works have served to entice, perplex, unsettle, and unravel the viewer before themselves, personifying the spirit of life in all things material to be interacted with and pondered. Through the use of sculpture, installation, photography, performance, and video, Kim explores the complex and ever - evolving cultural illusions and fluxe s within South Korea and, with profound subtlety, the world at large.

Laura James

Laura James elevates and spotlights the contemporary Black experience through the intrinsically tied themes and stories of ancient and recent history.

She has explored Black life through both a secular and religious lens, using her signature style influenced by ancient Ethiopian Christian iconography as well as contemporary art to present Black people in a majestic light she had so scarcely seen growing up. Young photography enthusiast of Afro-Antiguan descent turned self-taught painter and illustrator, James centers vibrant colors and intricate patterns in her portrayal of the daily lives of everyday people.

Artist

Jaegu Kang

Kang's work deeply explores the psychological and emotional experiences of young men who are conscripted, portraying their journey from civilians to soldiers.

Kang’s approach to photography is one of observation rather than manipulation, allowing his subjects to present themselves freely while existing within the rigid constraints of military life. His work critiques the collective hysteria and emotional toll that the mandatory military system imposes on young men, providing a raw, unfiltered look into a rite of passage that defines much of South Korean male youth.
